Epidemiology is a method that can be applied to a variety of clinical and population-based questions. Part of it is the systematic analysis of in-patient and out-patient care, aiming at improvements in everyday practice.

I offer the full range of up-to-date epidemiological methods. You may need the well-founded appraisal of the validity of a published study. Or you may need the complete design, execution, analysis and publication of an epidemiological study with millions of data sets. Whatever your needs are, I find a solution together with my clients. As a physician, I always focus on the health benefit of patients and on everyday work in hospitals and physicians' offices. Everybody should get the medical treatment that they need. To ensure this, efficiency of services is a must. The methods shown in this section contribute to this goal.

Epidemiological methods:

There is a variety of study types, according to the specific questions and needs of patients, physicians, and health care providers. You will find information on the study types in the following sections.

Types of studies

Evaluation of diagnostic tests and screening

Economic evaluations

Health Services Research and Quality Management

Usually, an epidemiologic study consists of several steps. The typical steps are explained here:

Steps of a study

Not all of these steps are needed in all situations. Often there is already substantial knowledge and preliminary work has been done. In many cases, a systematic search of the literature and the knowledgeable interpretation of published findings is sufficient to answer your question. I will be pleased to offer you a specific solution, customized to your individual needs. This may include

Seminars in your Organisation.
