Christoph Trautner MD MPH
Christoph Trautner studied medicine (MD, Ludwig-Maximilians-University,
Munich), Public Health (Master of Public Health,
MPH, Harvard University),
and political science (Master of Public Policy, Free
University of Berlin). He received his "Habilitation" at the
University of Bielefeld (School of Public Health).
He was certified as a Specialist Physician in Public
Health by the Board of Physicians in Hamburg. He has
clinical experience in general medicine, oncology,
radiology, nuclear medicine, and psychiatry.
Christoph
Trautner worked at the universities of Munich, Ulm,
and Düsseldorf. He has many years of experience in executive
positions in Public Health (e. g. District Health
Commissioner, Berlin-Tiergarten; Head of Division
for Prevention and Rehabilitation, Health Authority,
Hamburg; Member of the board, Public Health Research
Network North Rhine-Westphalia; Deputy Director,
Institute of Occupational and Social Medicine and
Epidemiology, Charité University Hospital, Berlin).
Christoph Trautner is Professor of Medicine/Public
Health at the University of Applied Sciences at Braunschweig/Wolfenbüttel, Department of Public
Health. He teaches courses in Social and Preventive
Medicine, Epidemiology, Introduction to Scientific
Work, Health Economics, as well as Business English
and English for Health Care Professionals.
In addition,
Christoph Trautner works as a consultant for
organisations and businesses in health care. He is a
member of the Commission for Clinical Studies of the
German Diabetes Association and chair of
Gesundheitsforschung e. V. ("Health Research"), a
non-profit organisation in Berlin. He is a
member of
numerous international and national scientific
associations.
His research interests include the epidemiology of
diabetes, obesity, blindness, cost-benefit analyses,
and evidence-based
evaluation of prevention.
He has published scientific papers in the International Journal of
Epidemiology, Diabetes Care, The Journal of the
American Medical Association (JAMA), The American
Journal of Epidemiology, Diabetologia, Diabetic
Medicine, Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual
Science (IOVS), The European Respiratory Journal,
Deutsches Ärzteblatt, Diabetes und Stoffwechsel.
Professor Trautner
